This Adorable Spider Lucas Is Curing The Internet Of It’s Arachnophobia, He’s Just Too Cute

“Spiders are the cutest!” said no one ever. Well, unless they’re talking about Lucas.

Spiders are one of the most feared creatures on the planet. Almost 40% of all phobias include some sort of insect, including spiders. In fact, 5% of people on the planet are admittedly terrified of the eight-legged, eight-eyed critter.

What makes them so scary? Is it the fact that they have so many legs? Or maybe it’s because they can spin their own webs and ruin your life when you walk through one. Or maybe it’s the fact that some of them can have a leg span the size of a dinner plate.

Whatever the reason, many people would agree that spiders give them the creeps.

An animator named Joshua Slice created a cartoon spider named Lucas who is one of the cutest things to grace the internet. The world now has a new-found love of arachnids.

“This is an animation test of a character I’ve been working on,” Slice writes in the caption of his YouTube video. “I’m responsible for the design, modeling, rigging, animation, lighting, and rendering.”

Lucas, a fluffy spider with giant lovable eyes, enters the screen in Slice’s short film. In the sweetest, most innocent voice, he introduces himself, “Hi…I’m…My name’s Lucas.” The adorable voice is provided by Slice’s nephew, by the way.

The jaw-clenching, adorable video is only 20 seconds long, but it’s been viewed over 1.2 million times. The internet is in love with Lucas the Spider’s cuteness.

“I have too many eyeballs,” the charming spider says as it gives it’s abdomen a wiggle.

Just like a human child would do, Lucas soon loses interest in what is going on and seems to get side-tracked before running off. At least the cute, fuzzy spider gives a quick “okay, bye” before running from the top of the table to turn his attention elsewhere.

The short, but amazing video is winning the hearts of people across the world — even those with arachnophobia.
