Girl Buys Boyfriend Video Game For Christmas, Makes Him Sign Written Contract Before Playing

Any woman who has had a video gamer for a boyfriend likely has suffered from a bit of neglect when they get engrossed in a game. One girl found a way to make everyone happy, however, gifting her boyfriend with Call of Duty, but requiring him to sign a contract as well. While they received many comments both for and against the idea of the contract, titled “Rules for Your New Gift,” the couple assured everyone on Twitter that it was simply a joke.

Ashley Davison gave boyfriend Blake Perry Call of Duty with a few simple rules to protect both parties. Giving it a readthrough, you can definitely see it’s pretty cheeky – and Blake even signed off on it, so it’s safe to assume that he thinks it’s pretty funny too.

He did, however, tweet a look at the contract, writing: “Little does she know these rules will be broken.”

Here are the rules:
1. If I call you must pause the game and talk to me with full attention.
2. No starting another match if we are planning to hang out or I ask to hang out.
3. You must ask if it is okay for you to play while I am over at your house with you. Make sure I have something to do while you are in battle.
4. You must reply to a text no longer than 11 minutes.
5. Do not forget to give me just as much attention.

At the bottom, she wrote this agreement for her boyfriend to sign:

“I, Blake Perry, will follow these rules and in return I will be enjoying my new game and loving my girlfriend at the same time. But if I do not follow these rules my girlfriend, Ashley Davison, can take this game away from me at anytime for the rest of my life. So I will follow these rules and not forget about my girlfriend.”

Clearly, it’s not meant to be a serious contract, but this couple still took a bit of heat, with Ashley pegged as the crazy girlfriend type.

Blake tweeted: “In case you couldn’t tell this is obviously a joke” and Ashley tweeted: “Are you serious? It’s a joke.”

One person, however, tweeted a caution in response, writing: “Nah bro… I’ve been through this before, she wants you to think it’s a joke but in reality if you don’t follow those rules she will go postal on you. Just beware.”

Ashley responded that her boyfriend shouldn’t be concerned in the least, tweeting: “Don’t worry I’m not going to go postal on him. it 100% was a joke! Thanks for looking out for him though!”

Some thought the contract was a clever idea, with one person tweeting: “just now seeing this… and umm… can u send me a copy with the name blank?? ask for a friend aka me.”

One person wasn’t impressed, however, tweeting: “Joke or no joke this isn’t funny. Like I am tired of seeing dumb stuff like this promoting the crazy girlfriend. I play call of duty and I am a girl. My friends know I am not pausing anything and I will not be checking or replying to any text until after the game is over.”
